The UCC Party

o The room should be set up in a “party” mode. Conversation and even training can be festive! Avoid the feeling of a meeting.

Some possibilities:

§ Any artifacts of your local saints?

§ Music

§ Video playing?

§ Food?

§ Activity Tables?

§ Shirts, etc. for sale?

§ Stillspeaking Literature

o Think through:

§ Will you open or close with Festival Worship?

§ Is there to be a host for the celebration?

§ What works best in your locale to create a hospitable atmosphere?

§ Are you serving a meal? Who will provide and serve food?

§ Preview the God is still speaking commercials?

§ Conversation about the ads? What do they say to us? What do they say about us?

§ Who do you really want to be present at your event? Have you taken the steps needed to invite them? Have you organized your program so that it is attractive and convenient for them to participate?

§ Do you intend to follow up with the participants in any way?

§ How will you close the gathering?

Supplies Needed for Service of Worship

• Index or other small cards for written prayers
• Pens / pencils for written prayers
• Local written stories about saints /events
• Signs / banners with names of local saints / events (these may be as simple or elaborate as you like)
• Table or container to receive All Saints offering during Processional
• Table or container for Offertory gifts

Supplies Suggested for Worship and Celebration

• Nametags
• Stillspeaking lanyards for nametages
• Stillspeaking bulleting covers
• Stillspeaking banners
• Stillspeaking identity items for those in leadership roles (e.g. shirts, hats)
